You must know your breed and the ancestry of the horse from the moment it enters the world to determine traits that may need specific attention, both positive and negative.

Also, you must feed and exercise your horse in special ways or there will be no trophies. The same approach applies to both horses and children alike. You must take care of them physically, provide proper diet, and make sure they have adequate exercise or they will not be capable of becoming a winner on the fast track.

Both vaccinating your horse and keeping his/her environment clean and sanitary are key to the health of the horse. Neither an unhealthy horse nor an out of shape horse will win races.
