Kinds Of Horses: How To Care For Each Breed
Horses come in many breeds, each one with a type of physique and mindset to do certain types of activities. The thoroughbred has been developed for racing and excels in it over all other breeds. The quarter horse was developed for racing and also has become the premier stock horse for working cattle. It’s musculature and calm mindset makes it the ideal horse to do ranch work. Draft horses do hard hauling work and their gentle nature makes them the best four-legged employees you can have on your farm.
Caring for each breed requires knowing what is expected from the horse. Most draft horses are used for show and demonstrations and do not do as much farm labor as in days past. But they still require serious consideration in food and exercise. They eat more because they are rather large, they also need to exercise to keep their weight under control and muscles firm. Arabians and other performance horses require alfalfa hay. The protein content needs to be higher because of their activity level and other nutrition needs. Being in a pasture provides horses a horse-social environment and the ability to graze. But their diet and health will depend on a combination of regular feeding of breed-required hay and supplements per horse. It’s a good idea to study how to feed your horse so it can be at its best.Related Article : I’ve found out something…
